Anime Season: Winter 09/10

Well, here we go again: we have the new releases for this winter:

(click the pic to enlarge)

Durarara!! (from a light novel series): we are in the subburbs of Ikebukuro, Tokyo, where a gang of boys meet each other and fight among them. The local legend tells that "Dullahan", a headless rider driving a black motorbike with neither light nor sound sometimes appears in this area. Ryuugamine Mikado, a common student, moves to Ikebukuro, and then... wait 'til January if you wanna know :P

Dance in the vampire bund (from the manga): the story revolves around Mina Tepes, princess-ruler of all vampires, and her "protector," Akira. Like other vampires, Mina has been in hiding with her people for many years. Seeking to end centuries of isolation, Mina gains permission to create a special district for vampires, "The Bund", off the coast of Japan by paying off the national debt of the Japanese government. Mina then reveals to the world the existence of vampires and her desire for both races to live together. Tensions, however, run high as fearful humans and extremist vampire factions begin to interfere with Mina's wish for peace with the human world.

So·Ra·No·Wo·To-Sound of the Skies (original anime): we don't know too much about this anime, but we can expect great things from Mamoru Kanbe, the director of Elfen Lied. It's about soldier girls who deffend a fortress and play music. Similar to K-ON!, but let's wait 'til January to judge for ourselves.

Hanamaru Kindergarten-Hanamaru Yochien (from the manga): this anime with kawaii chibi characters designed by Mai Ootsuka (Shakugan no Shana) is about the day-a-day of Anzu-chan and her friends, Koume-chan, who is quite shy, and the excentric cosplay lover Hii-chan. She prefers Yamamoto-sensei more than Tsuchida-sensei, who is a Nintendo DS fanatic (just like me ^.^). We'll see on January 10th if it's not resembles Lucky Star too much, as I am fearing.

Nodame Cantabile Finale (sequel from Nodame Cantabile): the end of the series, which will end as the same time as the manga, so you can't spoil yourselves.

Katanagatari (from the light novel): it seems it want be an anime, but a series of OVAs, which will be aired monthly since January. Shichiya Yasuri is the head of Kyotō-ryū martial arts school. He lives with his younger sister Nanami in a lonely island, but a military councillor named Togame talks them about 12 legendary swords. Then, Shichiya starts a journey in order to find the swords.

Qwaser of Stigmata-Seikon no Qwaser (from the manga): the story takes place on the grounds of St. Mihailov Academy. Here it follows the trials and hardship of two students, Oribe Mafuyu and Tomo Yamanobe, until the enconunter with a mysterious silver-haired Russian boy, Sasha. What will happen later?

Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu (from the manga): we'll find cute girls and class conflict in this anime about students. Will the class F students get their rights? The battle starts next January.

Hidamari Sketch (sequel): I supose this is Hidamari Sketch×Hoshi Mittsu, announced after Hidamari Sketch×365. The anime (as the manga) has not a specific plot, as its name says, it's just about sketches. We'll see the normal life of the young student Yuno, who is accepted into Yamabuki Art High School. In order to go there, she moves to the Hidamari Apartments, near the school, were she meets her partners Miyako, Hiro and Sae. Maybe you know it as Sunshine Sketch, as it was licensed in English language. Coming on January.

Harukanaru Toki no Naka de 3 (sequel): but... sequel from what? In 2007 a special was aired, and 2 episodes before (2002-2003), so I think it's better to say from the videogame. I have not played it so I can't tell you very much. Just waiting until January to watch it.

Hidden God (from the game): a 16 year old boy moves to a small town located in the mountains. The town is separated by a river in old and new streets. He's ok but a classmate kept her distance form him. Sometimes, she remembers him this advise: "Stay away from the old streets". Quite cryptic, but since it's related with Higurashi no Naki Koro ni, I'm looking forward to watching it!

Rose O'Neill's Kewpie: it will be a 26 5min episodes to celebrate the 100th aniversary of this small babylike dolls. The fashion models Anne and Nozomi Sazaki will narrate the anime. And no more comments...

Omamori Himari (from the manga): fanservice with a nekogirl protecting a 16 year old boy who has lost his parents from the evil spirits. You can see it from January (not me).

Ladies vs Butlers! (from the light novel): a bad boy who wanna become a butler studing in a school that was just for girls a time ago. So they will be two-faced... and he will probably bleed a lot. Some kind of inverse Ouran Host Club? Let's wait until January

Chu-Bra!! (from the anime): Mayu loves high quality underwear and she, of course, loves to explain people why she does, so she founds an Underwear Club at the school to help her classmates choosing the correct type of underwear in order to fit them. A pantsu-moe anime near hentai... Doesn't sound very good, but can be funny.

Nyaaa!!! ;o; Why all the good animes are released in January?? What about my February exams? All Xmas with nothing new to watch and then... aaaaaaaww T_T

Well, and now I'm more relaxed. Which anime would you like to follow? I like a few of them, and also watching Kobato, Soul Eater, DTB, Kimi ni Todoke and Bleach now (I'm at #71 I think... I have a lot to do there ^^)

First of all...

Hello people!

Well, first of all, let's introduce each other: I'm Black Papermoon, a dreamy 19 year-old student. What do I study? I'm with an English Studies degree at the university: I study language, literature, history...

More about me... (the university is not very interesting...) Oh, I do love Japan and almost evey thing which comes from there. I'm really into manga and anime and I also love Japanese fashion, specially lolita. I like cosplay too and now I'm able to use the sewing machine I'll do some without my mum's help. I love literature (every kind of it) and if I like it, I can read a book in some hours. Currently I'm writing a short novel and I'll just say it's a mix between Kamikaze Girls and Alice in Wonderland.

I don't have much more to write right now. I hope you enjoy reading about my crazy live as student and as a strange person.

What about you? Would you like to introduce yourselves? Whenever you want to say something, feel free to give a star and we'll get a sky full of diamonds.

~Good night and good luck~

P.S: Please, try not to be rude in your comments or I'll have to delete them. I can accept any point of view, not censoring you, but just try to say things in a polite way. As Goethe said, A man's manners are a mirror in which he shows his portrait.

P.S.2: If you like literature you can visit my other blog, The Importance of Being Literate. I'll comment there poems, novels and plays. I post them in their original language and in Spanish too (because I'm Spanish) but if know the language, you trust on GoogleTranslate or just want to read the writings (generaly) in English, you can visit it.
